3 Beautiful Solid Wood Beds from Heywood-Wakefield
Share
Here at Heywood-Wakefield, we believe that beautiful beds help inspire beautiful dreams. OK, perhaps that's a bit hyperbolic, but we do believe that simple, elegant, solid wood beds are a helpful part of creating a peaceful bedroom environment that's conducive to rest and relaxation.
So, we thought we'd take this opportunity to introduce you to a few classic solid wood beds in our current catalog. All of them are available in queen, Eastern king, and California king sizes, and they can all be easily converted into platform beds for a less bulky look and to highlight the mid-century modern styling of the headboards and footboards with our Platform Adaptor Kit.
These solid wood beds—like all Heywood-Wakefield furniture—are expertly crafted to last for more than 100 years. They're a true investment in creating the bedroom of your dreams, and one that so many people proudly pass down to future generations of their family.
Mid-Century Modern Solid Wood Beds
- Heywood-Wakefiled's StyleMaster Bed – Our M 530 StyleMaster Bed is undoubtedly the most fun bed in our current selection, thanks to its distinctly mid-century modern stylized footboard. As far as we can tell, this piece was only ever known by its product code M 503, which certainly isn't as much fun as its appearance. So, back in the early '90s, we dubbed it the StyleMaster, which seemed fittingly fun and '50s. Incidentally, this model is also available with a solid footboard, if that's more to your liking.
- Heywood-Wakefield's Rio Bed – Our C 3790 Rio Bed is a stunning WWII-era classic that was part of the Rio series designed by Leo Jiranek and first produced in 1943 and 1944. The large, hand-sanded, charming footboard adds mid-century modern character—with a bit of an Art Deco vibe—to any bedroom.
- Heywood-Wakefield's Kohinoor Bed – Our M 140 Kohinoor Bed (and the original series it was part of) is named after the famous Kohinoor diamond, which was discovered in India long ago and is now one of the Royal Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom, set in the front of the Queen Mother’s Crown. This bed was originally sold from 1949 to 1951, and its sleek, stylized lines perfectly capture the mid-century modern design sensibility.
